Gary Johnson: Trump is a Fascist

Gary Johnson

Not sure how anyone can argue with this.

Gary Johnson increased his attacks on Donald Trump on Tuesday, saying that he would consider him a fascist.

“It walks like a duck, quacks like a duck,” he told The New York Times, when asked if he thought Trump is a fascist. “Where’s the Constitution in all this?”

Johnson’s increased attacks on Trump come as he is trying to reach the 15 percent threshold in national polls to make the presidential debates. Johnson is also competing against Jill Stein, the Green Party ticket, and Evan McMullin, who recently mounted an independent bid for president, in portraying himself as an alternative to Trump and Hillary Clinton, two of the most unpopular nominees in history.

“We’re likable,” Johnson said about him and his running mate, Bill Weld.

The Libertarian candidate didn’t hold back on Clinton either, slamming the Clinton Foundation for a “pay for play” model, accusing the Clintons of allowing foundation donors access to governmental officials particularly when Clinton was secretary of state.

Johnson told The Times his campaign is considering national ads after Labor Day and sees Utah, Alaska, North and South Dakota as winnable states. However, he said he doesn’t see endorsements coming from the Republican establishment that remain anti-Trump such as Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney.

“To come out in support of anyone other than a member of your party — I understand how difficult that is,” he said.
