The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for Paradise Creek in Moscow.  The creek was running just under 9 feet around 2:00 this afternoon.  Flood stage is just over 9 feet.  The forecast is calling for the rain to end around Midnight which will allow the creek to recede rapidly.  At 9.2 feet Paradise Creek will spill its banks at Bridge Street and Hillcrest Drive.  Moscow city officials are anticipating minor localized flooding at that intersection tonight.  The city has its sandbag station available for residents at 650 North Van Buren.  The city’s Incident Response Team is also ready to help if needed.  Moscow officials are asking residents to clear any snow that’s blocking catch basins or yard drains.  If you see a problem with plowed snow blocking a storm drain in Moscow you are asked to contact the Moscow Police Department at 882-cops.  There is also a Flood Advisory in effect for the rest of the Palouse until about 10:00 tomorrow morning.

Heavy rains and melting snow has produced a sharp rise in Paradise Creek in Moscow.  The creek rose 4 feet overnight to nearly 8 feet this morning.  Flood stage is just over 9 feet.  Meanwhile the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Eastern Latah County.  Up to 10 inches of snow could fall today with nearly 2 feet possible in the mountains.  The Winter Storm Warning for Eastern Latah County runs until 10:00 Saturday morning.

And it looks like the Palouse River has also peaked

Good news all around.
