Two Washington State University football players have been arrested for allegedly trying to steal hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise from Walmart.  Pullman Police were called to the store by security around 10:00 Wednesday night.  Staff had detained 18 year old freshman defensive back Zaire Webb and 18 year old freshman wide receiver Anthony White Jr.  The pair allegedly went through the Walmart checkout without paying for all of the items in their cart.  Officers say Webb and White tried to steal 225 dollars’ worth of Walmart merchandise.  They were arrested, cited and released for misdemeanor 3rd degree theft.  Webb has appeared in all 5 games for the Cougars so far this season.  White has yet to take the field.  WSU Athletics Sports Information Director Bill Stevens says the football coaches will not be commenting about the shoplifting case.  Officers are still reviewing the case before sending a charging recommendation to the Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office.
