Washington’s first ever teachers’ union negotiations open to the public have ended with a tentative deal in Pullman

The first ever teachers’ union negotiations in Washington open to the public have apparently come to an end.  Pullman Schools Superintendent Dr. Bob Maxwell and Union President Rena Mincks announced that a tentative deal has been struck.  Both sides began negotiating last Spring and had their last scheduled session over the weekend.  The deal still needs approval from the Pullman School Board and the union.  The teachers have been working without a new contract since school began a month ago.  Earlier this year the Pullman School Board decided to make the district the first in the state to open contract talks to the public.  Details of the tentative contract have not been released.
