US Natural Gas Production: Jan 1980 – Feb 2018

… displays natural gas production in the US, which reached a new record high level of more than 97 billion cubic feet per day in February of this year. That’s a 38% increase in America’s natural gas production over the last decade and a 9% increase over the last six months. The record levels of US oil production in recent months (10.7 million barrels per day last week) seem to get all of the media attention, but America’s shale gas production also continues to increase to new record high levels with much less fanfare. And while rising oil and gasoline prices are being reported almost daily, natural gas prices receive much less media attention, maybe because they have been remarkably stable over the last few years, thanks in part to the rising production of shale gas.
