UI System Wide Enrollment Up Slightly

Some good news. Much bad news for Moscow. The 7-year decline continues.

University of Idaho enrollment system wide is up slightly this Fall.  The UI released its enrollment numbers Wednesday.

There are just under 12,000 students at the UI, up 85 students from last year.  The slight increase is driven in part by a 2% bump in the freshman class to about 1,500 students this Fall.

The continuing student population is down 4% this Fall.  The number of Idaho resident undergraduate students at the UI is down over 4%.

There are nearly 2,000 high school students taking dual-credit UI classes up about a hundred from a year ago.  That number exceeds the institution’s strategic plan which includes a goal of only about 1,200 dual-credit high school students.

Those dual-credit high school UI students are included in Moscow campus enrollment which is up by nearly 600 this Fall to over 11,000.  Moscow campus enrollment for traditional college students topped out at about 11,500 in 2012 before high school students could take college classes in Idaho.
