Local Idaho State Representative Paulette Jordan changes her mind again and steps down from the Legislature

NewImageI posted about this earlier (Jordan not resigning from seat).

I said that it was a savvy move, and very pragmatic.

This is a savvy move on her part.

She has zero chance of winning governor of Idaho.

If she resigns her seat, she has a good chance of not getting it back.

Now she has indeed resigned.

Not resigning shows that she’s not really willing to do whatever it takes to win (to go all-in).

She should have done this from the beginning. But now she looks like a flip-flopper: resigning, not resigning, resigning again…

Local Idaho State Representative Paulette Jordan has changed her mind again and has stepped down from the legislature.  Local Democrats in the 5th Legislative District announced Jordan’s decision in a press release Thursday.  The 38 year old Democrat from Plummer is running for governor.

Jordan announced last week that she would step down from the house to focus on her campaign.  She didn’t resign and instead sent a substitute to vote for her while she campaigned.  Then on Wednesday she changed her mind again and left the state house in Boise.

Local Democrat precinct captains will select 3 nominees to fill the rest of Jordan’s term which expires at the end of the year.  They will meet on Thursday night at 6:00 in the Tensed Community Building to pick the finalists.  Idaho Governor Butch Otter will then make the appointment.  Applications for the post are due by Sunday.  More information on applying for the state house seat for Latah and Benewah Counties can be found at latahdems.org.  Jordan is running against Boise Businessman A.J. Balukoff in the May Democratic gubernatorial primary in Idaho.
