Idaho State Journal published following press release from Idaho Senate President Pro Tem Brent Hill, R-Rexburg, and Idaho House Speaker Scott Bedke, R-Oakley concerning the alleged affair between Sen. Jim Guthrie, R-Inkom, and Rep. Christy Perry, R-Nampa:
“Certain recent allegations about Senator Jim Guthrie and Representative Christy Perry deserve our response. As leaders in the House and Senate, we are particularly concerned about the suggestion that public resources may have been misused. We want the public to know that we take this matter seriously and are determined to find the truth. That is why we have asked legislative auditors to review all relevant documents and information. Our goal is to determine whether any misuse of public funds occurred and to inform Idahoans of our review and findings.”
