Malden Fire should be fully contained by this weekend
Crews are expecting to get full containment on the Malden Fire within a couple of days at the most. The wildfire remains at 350 acres after volunteers from several Whitman County Fire Districts battled the flames Wednesday. The blaze did threaten the North part of Malden.
Crews of around Washington mobilized to battle a wildfire near Pomeroy
A wildfire Southeast of Pomery has been state mobilized as crews from around Washington are now responding to battle the flames. The Washington State Patrol authorized state mobilization on the Knotgrass Fire in Garfield County around 6:30 tonight at the request of local volunteers.
Wildfire threatens the Town of Malden
A large wildfire threatened the Town of Malden in North Whitman County today prompting state mobilization to help fight the flames. Whitman County Fire District 7 volunteers out of Rosalia responded to the fire around 3:30 this afternoon. The blaze started in the Squaw Road area West of Rosalia and winds pushed the flames toward Malden.
Volunteers battling large wildfire in North Whitman County
Volunteers from around Whitman County are fighting a large wildland fire in the Rosalia area. The blaze is burning West of town. It started this afternoon in the Squaw Road area. Units from nearly every volunteer fire district in Whitman County have responded.
Air Quality Alert issued for Whitman County
An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Whitman County and Eastern Washington. Winds are expected to push smoke into the region from Northwest wildfires through Saturday at Noon. Air quality might be unhealthy at times.
