Amazon is raising the minimum wage for U.S. employees to $15 an hour.

It’s one thing for a computer technician with a college degree to earn $15/hr. It’s another thing for a high school sophomore flipping burgers for the first time in his life.

Amazon is raising the minimum wage for U.S. employees to $15 an hour. The e-tailer will introduce the pay hike to its 250,000 plus employees, as well as seasonal hires, from November. Those who already make $15 an hour will also receive a salary increase. CEO Jeff Bezos said in a statement that he was acting following criticism the company has received for pay disparity; the move also comes as the fight for a minimum wage increase gains steam across the country.
