Washington State University Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils announced in a Monday evening press release an implemented ban to all fraternity and sorority events. The ban, a direct result to an increase in assaults, sexual assaults, rapes, falls and hospitalizations in or around greek related events and involving greek affiliated students. The moratorium will take effect November 7th at 5 P.M. The press release from the two student organizations acknowledged that Greek life at this institution is in jeopardy. The moratorium was initiated by the students within both councils, and not an action of the Washington State University Administration. The moratorium will be lifted at the start of the 2017 Spring semester.
