Republican Lawmaker Unveils ‘Crumbs Act’ to Make Bonuses from GOP Tax Bill Tax-Free

A Republican lawmaker is unveiling new legislation designed to make the bonuses given out from the GOP tax bill tax-free.

The bill put forth by Indiana Representative Todd Rokita would make bonuses received by workers in 2018 tax-free up to $2,500.

Multiple companies have already given out bonuses and pay raises in anticipation of increased tax savings, giving Democrats a reason to worry.

I bet the Dems are worried — people getting to keep their own money? Gasp!

The proposed legislation is called the ‘Creating Relief and Useful Middle-Class Benefits and Savings Bill,’ or ‘Crumbs’ for short.

The name is a direct jab at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who tried to downplay the effects of the GOP tax reform bill last month.

According to Americans for Tax Reform, 346 companies have given their workers bonuses, higher wages, or increased contributions to 401K’s since the bill was passed in December.
