The Spokane Regional Health District has ordered more than 200 unvaccinated students in the Spokane area home following additional mumps cases.
Seventeen East Valley School District students have been excluded from school through Jan. 31, said Superintendent Kelly Shea.
An additional 35 unvaccinated Mt. Spokane students have been asked to go home.
On Tuesday 120 Spokane Public School students were ordered home by health district.
Wednesday the health district asked an additional 46 Lewis and Clark High School students to stay home, said district Spokesman Kevin Morrison.
North Pines Middle School in the Central Valley School district had confirmed mumps cases, spokeswoman Marla Nunberg said. However, she didn’t know how many students would be affected by a pending exclusion order.
The Cheney School District and the West Valley School District have no confirmed mumps cases. There are no confirmed mumps cases in Northern Idaho, according to the Panhandle Health District.
