More snow and ice for the South

What’s the difference between weather and climate? Every record high proves climate change. Every record low proves weather is not climate change.

Clear?

Parts of Kentucky have already received nine inches (23 cm) of snow

Around 40 million Americans are under a wind chill warning from Montana to Texas and in the Northeast, temperatures could feel as low as minus 40F (-40C).

A winter storm is dumping snow, sleet and ice throughout the Northeast, creating icy conditions and hampering travel through a significant portion of the U.S., according to the National Weather Service.

While parts of Kentucky have already received nine inches of snow, most areas in the south can expect just enough to cover and close roads. Snowfall in the Northeast is expected to be “normal,” anywhere from two to six inches in most areas.

Governor Kay Ivey of Alabama declared a state of emergency in Alabama Monday in preparation for the storm.

“The potential exists that this winter storm could be debilitating to the state for a couple of days due to icy conditions,” Director Alabama Emergency Management Agency Brian Hastings said according to CNN.
