MLK speeches set for Thursday night

This one jumped out at me, from KQQQ

There will be 2 Martin Luther King keynote addresses on the Palouse Thursday night.  The University of Idaho event will feature community organizer Nikkita Oliver.  Oliver will discuss the importance of community organizing and her thoughts on how white supremacist structures impact our everyday lives.  The speech is at 5:00 in the Pitman Center.

Senior justice writer for the New York Daily News Shaun King will deliver the keynote address at WSU’s Martin Luther King Community Celebration.  King will discuss his views on racism in the 21st century.  He notes that the number of people killed by police officers in 2015 was the same as the number of lynchings in 1902.  His speech will be at 7:00 in the CUB.  WSU will also present its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Service Awards.

It’s like people cannot even think these days.

According to the US Census, there were 8.8 million blacks in 1900, and there are 46.8 million blacks today

There are 532% more blacks today than in 1902.

Talk about comparing apples to oranges.
