Local students outperform state and nation on PSAT

Lots of pride here in Moscow that MSD, with students costing taxpayers $12,000 per year per student, were able to score 100 points above the state average.

No mention on how many actual National Merit Finalists we got for that $12k/yr.

Now take a look at a local private school that charges $4,700/year per student. Out of those 24 seniors, 3 were National Merit students. That’s 12.5% National Merit students at 40% the cost of government schools.

I find it humorous how liberals trump a marginal performance at a premium cost.

Moscow High School sophomores and juniors performed more than 100 points above the state average and bettered the national average on the Preliminary SAT taken this past October.

During its annual meeting Wednesday, the Moscow School Board announced the average PSAT score for juniors was 1109 and sophomores was 1034, easily overtaking the state averages of 1028 for juniors and 914 for sophomores.

While the PSAT is not considered on college applications, it is considered to be a reliable barometer measuring college readiness. The next scheduled test date for the SAT is April 9, with a make-up test date offered April 23.
