MOSCOW — City officials and residents alike tried their best Monday night to not mention the taboo retailer by name — Wal-Mart.
But a few did. And one elected official, City Councilor Linda Pall, even recused herself from the discussion after she admitted to taking the retailer’s name in vain.

“I said, boy, I sure hope you’re not planning a Wal-Mart out there … and in no uncertain terms I said it was a terrible idea,” Pall said, recalling a recent conversation she had over the proposed development of 77 acres of land on the southeast corner of town. Pall said her words might be construed as a conflict of interest, so she remained silent.

Linda Pall: bad for business; bad for Moscow.
