Legislator describes himself as a target of ‘left-wing extremists’

Moscow is the largest town in Sen. Dan Foreman’s legislative district, but the first-term Republican isn’t particularly happy with the way he’s treated there.

Foreman, a retired Air Force and Moscow police officer, describes himself as “a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order.” He thinks that makes him a target for the more liberal members of the community.

“The treatment conservative legislators receive in Moscow is atrocious,” he said. “Hard-core left-wing extremists are painting Moscow as a big, selfish, godless town without a soul. It’s a shame. The town isn’t really that way, but it’s easy to reach that conclusion.”
