In the name of equality, lefty movie stars should distribute a large chunk of their income to support the less successful in the arts community

This will never happen. 

Hollywood elites are perfectly fine with redistributing everyone else’s wealth. They have their’s carefully protected in S-Corps and by using other tax-avoiding mechanisms. 

If many in Hollywood are for socialism, why not start in your back yard Tinseltown? The world is full of struggling actors barely getting by. If only Matt Damon, George Clooney, and Jim Carrey gave 90% of their money to the arts community, think of how many dinner theaters could open up and how many actors could be employed.

But they won’t do this of course. They want YOU to pay more however. You, the middle class family with three kids and a mortgage.
