Gender Inequity in the National Merit Scholarship Program

I have a hunch that the reason many universities (University of Chicago being the most recent) have done away with SAT/ACT scores is that it doesn’t give them the diversity outcomes that they want.

The following is from the US Dept. of Education. Their research shows that males scored noticeably better on the mathematics section of the PSAT, especially the high-end scores (50% better than girls). And girls scored significantly better in the writing portion (24% better than boys).

Since their worldview has no method to deal with this disparity, they get rid of the standardized tests.

That’s academia for you.
