The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Palouse as the Palouse River may rise to near flood stage.  Rain will cause significant snow melt below 3,000 feet through Saturday morning.  The forecast is calling for the Palouse River to crest just below flood stage between Potlatch and Palouse Friday afternoon.  Ice jam flooding is also possible especially on Hangman Creek in North Whitman County.  Urban flooding and localized lowland flooding is also possible in areas of poor drainage.
