Cartoon beyond offensive

Your Opinion page editorial cartoon of Aug. 21 goes beyond offensive.

Clansmen, Nazis and over 5 million sportsmen, collectors, recreational shooters and, last but far from the least, Americans with an abiding belief in the Second Amendment all lumped together as an allied group? Really?

The Daily News Opinion page has been unpleasant in the past but this takes offensive to a whole new level. Reasonable people might disagree on firearms policy, but this goes beyond that by more than a little. If your intention was to alienate a large number of your readers I must say, well done. If not, your apology can’t come fast enough.
