Trans-fats are just carbs that self-identify as fats right? Via the Babylon Bee:
DALLAS, TX—The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Friday against the American Heart Association challenging its “discriminatory” dietary recommendations that urge Americans to avoid or reduce their intake of trans fats.
“The AHA frequently employs phrases such as, ‘reducing trans fat in your diet helps reduce risk of heart disease,’ ‘trans fats raise your bad (LDL) cholesterol levels and lower your good (HDL) cholesterol levels,’ ‘eating trans fats increases your risk of developing heart disease and stroke, and is also associated with a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes,’ an ACLU spokesman explained. “Their nutritional guidelines are blatantly transphobic.”
The lawsuit argues that the dietary advice discriminates based solely on the type of fat, and that it is based on uninformed speculation, myths, stereotypes, moral disapproval, and a bare desire to harm this already vulnerable triglyceride .
The visibly disgusted spokesman even revealed documents showing that the AHA refers to trans fats using descriptors such as “artificial,” “not natural,” and “not naturally occurring.”
“Read the American Heart Association’s website right now, and you’ll see the words ‘replace the trans fats in your diet with monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats,’” he added. “This type of wholesale bigotry has no place in our country, and we will not stand for it.”
