Incumbent leads Republican Senate primary by roughly 100 votes
Controversial incumbent state Sen. Dan Foreman, R-Viola, appears to have defeated former Moscow Mayor Marshall Comstock, R-Moscow, by 109 votes in the Republican primary Tuesday night.
Foreman ended the night with 2,180 votes, or 51.3 percent, while Comstock had 2,071, or 48.7 percent.
The winner will move on to battle David Nelson, D-Moscow, in the race to represent Idaho’s 5th District in November’s general election.
