Police ‘not using stop-and-search enough’ in fight against knife crime
Police have not used stop-and-search powers enough to clamp down on a rising tide of violence in London, one of Britain’s most senior police chiefs has warned. Sara Thornton, chairman of the National Police Chiefs’ Council, said a backlash against the controversial powers has gone too far while rates of gun and knife crime have surged.
