Today, August 7, marks the 20th the anniversary of suicide bombings of the American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania by al-Qaeda in 1998. The bombings killed 258 people, including 12 Americans and injured thousands. The CIA said the attacks had been planned years in advance.

A British police officer called the organization Karma Nirvana (which helps victims of child marriage and honor violence) to ask if it was acceptable for a 26-year old man from Iraq to date a 12-year old girl. The man was accused of being a pedophile and the officer wanted to make sure he was being “culturally sensitive” before charging him.
